The C28 promenade is a new space for interaction in and across Brussels. It is a cycle and pedestrian path accessible to all types of active transport and new forms of mobility. It stretches just over 6 kilometers from Brussels North to Anderlecht. Its route takes us along the L50 and L28 railway lines and through rich landscapes, varied topography, and inhabited areas. It is a space for movement and mobility, with the aim of creating public spaces that structure the Brussels metropolitan area and relate to their context.

The route has been chosen with comfort in mind, but also to take advantage of opportunities to link up with existing infrastructure and preserve certain green embankments. In several places along the route, segments of C28 already exist, fragments of public spaces or parks that have been created over the last 10 years. In other places, it will be an opportunity to install new rest areas, playgrounds, or community gardens. The project integrates, connects, and complements these existing spaces within a continuous system of public spaces. The development of this promenade represents an opportunity to initiate a cross-cutting and coherent reflection on the redevelopment of public and natural spaces along this linear route that crosses the entire west of Brussels.
