Peterbos - ground floors for associative equipment    Anderlecht, 2025     img    plan    txt

The renovation project for the two ground floors of buildings 3 and 8—the rez P3terb8s—is part of the Peterbos master plan developed by vvv and studio Paola Viganò. The aim is to redevelop the spaces at the foot of the towers, the interface between housing and public space. The two renovations offer the opportunity to create a new “intermediate layer,” a new dimension to the site that is currently lacking. The program aims to extend and completely reorganize the activities on the ground floor of block 3 (youth center) and create a recycling center on the ground floor of block 8. The youth center already exists, but the spaces are being redesigned and reorganized to provide the most optimal use of available space. The terrace in front of the building is being extended and a new canopy is being added to the building to mark the entrance and connect the youth center with the renovated public spaces. The recycling center is located on the currently open ground floor. The project includes a work area with a large piece of furniture that combines bathroom and kitchen facilities. A storage area adjacent to the work area is also proposed. Once again, a canopy opening onto the south marks the entrance to the project and provides a covered space with a good view of the future park on the site.
