Lower Saint-Gilles is a neighborhood undergoing major transition in terms of people, mobility, work, and water. But this movement has also meant that over the past 150 years, the neighborhood has been constantly changing. The location, density, and morphological configuration of the neighborhood present several critical issues and expose it to risks related to climate change. (Flooding, lack of vegetation, urban heat island effect). At the same time, the project area has certain characteristics that make it particularly suitable for the implementation of strategies to counter these phenomena, with positive effects that could extend to a wider area.
